Sustainability

Our Environmental Policy

Sustainability is a central topic for us and we place great importance on ensuring that our products are as environmentally friendly as possible. We are aware that the way we produce and sell has a direct impact on the environment, and therefore we are committed to implementing sustainable practices in all areas of our company.

An important aspect of the sustainability of our products is the use of environmentally friendly materials. We prefer natural materials such as cotton, wool, and linen that are biodegradable and have a low ecological footprint.

Another important point is the quality and durability of our products. We use high-quality materials and processing to ensure that our products last a long time and do not quickly wear out. This reduces the need to regularly buy new products and minimizes waste.

We also ensure that our products are made under fair conditions. We only work with suppliers who ensure fair working conditions and reasonable pay. We want to ensure that our products are not made at the expense of the people involved.

Finally, we are committed to reducing our CO2 emissions. We optimize our supply chains and logistics to minimize transport and use renewable energy in our production facilities. We also strive to make our packaging as environmentally friendly as possible and use recyclable materials.

Our Approach

Being environmentally responsible involves constantly striving for improvements in all aspects of our value chain and throughout every phase of our product's life cycle. In order to have the most positive impact on environmental issues, WISEWOOD collaborates with various organizations such as the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) program, the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). Additionally, the company has pledged to the Circular Fashion System Commitment of the Global Fashion Agenda (GFA). To ensure efficient environmental protection, WISEWOOD also adheres to established standards such as ISO 14001, ISO 14041, and ISO 50001.

Logistics

At WISEWOOD, we prioritize sustainability in our logistics processes by striving to make the most efficient use of all resources. To reduce our environmental impact throughout the value chain, we set clear requirements for our logistics partners. Our approach involves: Implementing continuous improvement processes to support our medium and long-term targets by adopting best practices. Evaluating our transport routes and structures with tailor-made tools to increase efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions. We regularly review and adjust our transport vehicles to match the most appropriate means of transport. Giving preference to logistics service providers with a clear commitment to sustainability and continuous improvement processes. We require evidence of relevant environmental certificates. Reusing a large proportion of cardboard and procuring FSC®-certified (FSC® N002527) packaging, or using foil with a high proportion of recycled material to protect our hanging goods.
